Male Mammoplasty
MALE BREAST REDUCTION
GYNECOMASTY
Increase of fatty tissue in breast tissue and breast
area in men is called Gynecomasty.
Gynecomasty is observed in adolescence and men over
50. Gynecomasty may occur due
to completely physiologic reasons in healthy human
and due to use of medicine, chronic diseases,
certain hormonal disorders and certain tumors.
After determination of the reason of gynecomasty
with differential diagnosis, treatment is planned.
Gynecomasty is divided into 3 groups depending on
the size and slacking of the skin.
In the first phase, the size is limited and there is
no looseness or slackness in skin.
In the second phase, the breast looks like a woman
breast and there is no slacking in skin.
In the third phase, there is looseness in skin
requiring treatment.
In early phases, only liposuction is enough and in
advanced phases with slacking of skin, breast tissue
and skin excision may be required with cuttings
around the nipple.
Depending on the technique, operation can be
conducted under general or local anesthesia.
Another application for almost all incidents is
wearing of a corset to take the operation area under
pressure.
Corset should be used regularly especially in the
first month. |
